Pétanque...
The game of boules played on a gravel terrain in almost every
town and village in France has become a popular sport in the
UK. Crondall
Pétanque Club, celebrating its 20th anniversary
in 2009, is one of the larger clubs in Britain with around
80 members. Conveniently situated near the M3 on the Hampshire
- Surrey border, and close to the towns of Fleet and Farnham,
the Club is ideally placed to host major competitive pétanque
events.

9-a-side League Winners
This year Crondall were outright winners of the 1st Division
of the SCPA 9-a-side league. Although there is still one game
to play, no other team is in a position to overtake them.
North Downs League
Crondall Tigers won Group B of the North Downs Petanque League
this year, but were beaten by Oxshott, winners of Group A,
in the final play-off. See a
picture
of the Tigers team.
New Members Welcome
New members are always welcome - you don’t need any
experience and boules can be borrowed if you want to try your
hand at the game before deciding to join. Click

European Cup for Clubs
Having won the first round of this knockout competition in October
against the Hampshire Rose,

Home Nations
Congratulations to Crondall members Harrison Ash and Ashley
Odell, who were part of the 4 man England 2 team representing
England in the Home Nations Championship held at Swansea on
15/16th August 2009. England won the event by securing a 5
game lead over their nearest rivals, Wales. Also to be congratulated
is Daniel Baker, playing in one of the EPA Junior teams, who
won 6 out of their 8 games. Full results on the
