Fox & Hounds Challenge Shield - 2nd Leg (19th August)
There was a good turnout of both Ship and Crondall members to play in the second leg of this annual event. Although the forecast was poor, the threatened rain fortunately stayed away until nearly the end of the competition. As usual there were 3 rounds of triples games in the morning and 3 rounds of doubles in the afternoon. The Ship brought forward a 4 game advantage from the first leg, but Crondall played well and finished the day with an 8 game lead, thus winning the trophy with an aggregate lead of 4 games.

The weather forecast was not good, with heavy showers predicted. Luckily these did not materialize with patchy light rain in the morning, clearing up to be a nice warm afternoon. A very good turnout of 24 Crondall players visited Owslebury on a lovely Spring day to play a similar number of members of the Ship Inn PC on the first leg of this annual competition, now in its 19th year. As usual there were 3 rounds of triples games in the morning, followed by 3 rounds of doubles after lunch. At the end of the day, the Ship had a slight advantage which Crondall will do their best to reverse on the return leg in August. Results were:

On a glorious Easter Monday, a splendid turnout of 42 teams arrived at Crondall from all directions to compete in our annual Open Doubles competition. The format was a five game snake, with three games played in the morning and two after lunch. It was great to see our terrain used to almost its full capacity.
