Pétanque...

The game of boules played on a gravel terrain in almost every town and village in France has become a popular sport in the UK. Crondall Pétanque Club, celebrating its 19th anniversary in 2008, is one of the larger clubs in Britain with around 80 members. Conveniently situated near the M3 on the Hampshire - Surrey border, and close to the towns of Fleet and Farnham, the Club is ideally placed to host major competitive pétanque events.

New Members Welcome

New members are always welcome - you don’t need any experience and boules can be borrowed if you want to try your hand at the game before deciding to join. Click here for details of who to contact.

No Smoking on the Terrain

Members and visitors should be aware that smoking is not permitted on the playing surface, but is allowed on the surrounding areas and pathways. For the greater enjoyment of all, you are asked to observe this ruling and to use the ashbins provided. Please be mindful of others and recognize that smoking can be offensive to your fellow non-smokers.

ECC Knockout Competition

At the EPA's European Cup for Clubs Knockout on 16th March, Crondall unfortunately were eliminated in the morning. Nevertheless, the team are to be congratulated in qualifying to be among the top 8 teams in England. Our congratulations and good wishes go to the winners - Colne Angels, Essex, who will now play away to an Italian team.

SCPA Triples

Crondall members did well in the SCPA Triples held at Farmhouse on Sunday, 13th July. Jammy Donuts (Ashley Odell, Harrison Ash and Rod Fisher) won the Main Consolage, Crondall 1 (Richard Baker, Keith Down and Colin Philip) were runners-up in the Main Competition and qualify to play in the EPA Champion of Champions, and Reynald Guillaud, playing with two players from other clubs, won the Main Competition, also qualifying to play in the Champion of Champions in October.
